JOB SUMMARY:
A Math Teacher is responsible for teaching, preparing materials & arranging schedules, organizing activities, tests or assessments relating to Math; as well as ensuring the quality of classes and assessments. He/she is also required to join the tasks of the Academic Team, contribute and generate ideas to the general teaching.
 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Collaborate with Lead Math Teacher to make budget plan, academic plan and budget using plan;
• Collaborate with Lead Math Teacher to build up the Academic Year’s plan for Math Team & Academic Team & personal plan;
• Prepare materials, lesson plans, teaching plans with specific learning goals relating to Math for students;
• Teach, manage and take care of students during your classes;
• Organize teaching and learning activities to develop students' learning capacity; Create new teaching or learning methods to help students achieve their best results;
• Update class’ status and students individually (if any) on Learning Management System of the School;
• Organize Math assessments or tests to evaluate students' learning effectiveness and proactively adjust teaching methods;
• Complete the academic reports assigned by the Principals;
• Complete academic materials based on requirements from the Ministry of Education & Training and Department of Education & Training;
• Prepare materials and join mutual meetings or 1-1 meeting with parents of your class;
• Be on duty to supervise or manage students on required by the School;
• Participate in training sessions required/organized by the School; Actively participate in training and professional development activities.
• Build respectful, cooperative relationships with Parents and Students;
• Support teams/colleagues in professional activities;
• Participate in school activities and events;
• Other tasks as required by the Academic Team, Board of Principals and Board of Management;

POSITION OVERVIEW   

A Biology Teacher is in charge of teaching, preparing materials, building up curriculum, organizing activities, assessment or tests, scoring and giving feedback to students, relating to the subject; as well as ensuring the best learning effectiveness and the best quality of assessment. A Biology Teacher is also responsible for participating in mutual tasks/activities assigned by the School Principals, Academic Team or Head of School, contributing to the ideas for general teaching activities.

• Collaborate with other teachers to design Biology if required.   
• Prepare learning and teaching materials, teaching schedules/plans with specific goals for student with Biology subjects.

• Update the class and students’ status.

• Prepare materials and participate in mutual meeting or 1-1 meeting with parents of classes that you teach.  
• Be on duty to supervise the students based on the School’s assignment.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for implementing the STEM program/curriculum and collaborating with faculty to promote interdisciplinary STEM activities within the core curriculum in grades 1 – 5 and beyond as True North School grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement a STEM-based curriculum in collaboration with other STEM members

• Position: Academic Social Emotional (ACE) Counselor 
• Working location: True North School, Lot TH-03, Mo Lao Urban Area, Ha Dong, Hanoi

POSTION DESCRIPTION

The Academic Social Emotional Counselor is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. This position monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students’ social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. School Psychologist

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy per IEP requirements. 
• Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings. 
• Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. 
• Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. 
• Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving in the classroom. 
• Screen students for potential psychological issues and make recommendations for treatment plans based on this screening
• Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs
• Administer therapy to children with developmental, learning or behavioral delays
• Work with at-risk youth who are in need of educational intervention to help them achieve success
• Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. 
• Reporting student issues to the appropriate authorities if neglect or abuse is suspected.

2. Student Counselor

• Implements school counseling and guidance program curriculum: conduct counseling and guidance learning activities in the classroom for each grade level during the year in collaboration with the teaching staff
• Listening to students' academic, emotional, social, and behavioral concerns in an open and non-judgmental way.
• Working directly with students to develop solutions and set achievable goals.
• Assisting with conflict mediation and resolution between students, students and teachers, or parents and teachers to ensure students' goals are not disrupted.
• Advises students in developing appropriate course choices based on long range plans of study and identified career interests
• Helping students to prepare for admissions applications and tests.
• Conducts structured, goal-oriented, individual, small and large group counseling sessions to assist students in exploring, interpreting and developing personal decision-making competencies, to enhance self-esteem and self-understanding; develop academic, career and personal/social life plans
• Developing, monitoring, and assisting with counseling programs.
• Offering referrals to outside resources, such as for mental health, substance abuse, or vocational-related activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in counseling
• Experience working as a school interventionist or psychologist
• Experience with counseling principles, techniques, and practices as applied to students' problems and developmental needs.
• Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist throughout your career
• Knowledge of placement testing and career, personal, and educational assessment.
• Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application. 
• Bilingual skills 
• Excellent communication skills with both children and adults

• Work closely with Head of STEAM to develop curriculum for True North School (Syllabus, Core lesson plan, Review and evaluation);  
• Develop a plan of professional activities for the school year: Specify appropriate targets and measures feasible (based on the school's work plan and program development plan);  
• Prepare teaching materials, daily student reports and final assessment reports, unscheduled reviews. Keeping students' notebooks clean, marking and correcting lessons, building class order (hygiene, order and discipline, learning attitude, ethical behavior of students);  
• Teach and support other teachers in the group.  
• Develop exam questions bank for teaching and other requirements from the School Board.  
• Evaluate the students’ performance, have meetings with parents based on School schedule and any abrupt meetings required by the School Board.  
• Attend workshops for enrollment, experiential classes and school events throughout school year.  
• Build plans to guide the implementation of curricular and extracurricular programs when requested.  
• Develop new teaching ideas to share with colleagues in group/ grade meetings.  
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
